Marshall County

Marshall County Health Department received confirmation of 1 additional new positive Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 case in Marshall County.  This individual is a male in his 50’s who is reporting mild symptoms.  Marshall County Health Department staff will be checking in with him daily for symptoms and temperatures. 

This brings Marshall County to a total of 131 confirmed cases and 5 probable cases, 5 of which are in isolation at home, 1 associated death and 130 whom have been released from isolation. 

We continue to recommend to people to maintain social distancing and wearing of a facial covering in public as directed by the Governor.

Ohio County

Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department is announcing fifteen (15) new positive cases of COVID-19 in Ohio County.  These are new cases since September 4th.  Currently, the health department reports a total of 312 cases, including four (4) probable cases, and six (6) deaths.  Case surveillance, contact tracing and monitoring continues for many of the reported cases. 

Investigation to date indicates that cases are associated with resident and nonresident vacation travel, group events including family gatherings, cases at higher education centers and cases with no other risk factor, which can be an indicator of active community spread.  The Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department is monitoring two outbreaks among facilities in Ohio County. 

Ohio County and Ohio Valley residents are advised to limit public contact, implement social distancing, work at home where possible, wear a face covering when out in public, indoors or at work, wash your hands frequently and contact your personal physician if you become ill with fever, cough, or difficulty breathing.
