A gospel musical festival is coming to western Belmont County in early August.
The Zion Christian Retreat & RV Park, located at 334 E. High St. in Flushing, is hosting the its First Annual Gospel Music Fest on August 7 on the retreat grounds.
The cost is $5 per ticket with a max number of guests set at 350.
The feature performer will be Jessica Ingram, who had two charting singles on the gospel music charts in 2020. The Love Quarter will also perform. Ingram is a New Mexico native and pastor’s daughter.
Swimming will be offered from noon until 7 p.m. during the festival, with the aqua zipline and beach area remaining open.
The lake and walking trails will be open as well to provide festival goers a full assortment of activities.
The cost is $5 per ticket to reserve a spot and ensure the attendance cap is not exceeded. Food and drinks will be available, with free will offerings being accepted. The $5 ticket fee will be refunded.

Zion has a number of amenities for young and old to enjoy, whether or not there is a gospel festival going on.
Fishing is available in Zion Lake for $10 for a 24-hour, catch-and-release pass. No ODNR license is needed. Geocaching is available, as are kayak rentals. There is a boat launch fee of $5 for anyone bring their own kayak or paddleboard, or, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards are available for $10 the first hour, and $5 each additional hour.
There is a Noah’s Ark playground for children, along with designated sandy volleyball, cornhole, and ladder golf areas.
Zion Christian Retreat also offers both rustic and luxury cabins available for rent, in addition to its RV sites.
Reservations are being taken for the remaining spots for this Friday’s fireworks display and Fourth of July celebration. For those wishing to satisfy their sweet tooth along with their desire to take in the fireworks display, Holey Rollers donuts will be on hand selling their popular items.
Admission for that event is $10 for adults and $5 for children.
