Pittsburgh Technical College (PTC) will finalize its Masters of Business Administration (MBA) Fast Track partnership with West Liberty University (WLU) on Jan. 11 at 10 a.m., PTC Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Eileen Steffan and WLU President/CEO Dr. W. Franklin Evans. (PTC President/CEO Dr. Alicia B. Harvey-Smith was unable to attend due to a family emergency.)
The signing, set to take place in the Board of Governors Room, located in WLU’s historic Shaw Hall, will finalize the MBA Fast Track Partnership that will enable PTC graduates with Bachelor of Science degrees in either the Business Administration, Applied Management or Science in Information Technology programs to accelerate their bachelor’s to master’s degree pathway.
“One of our key objectives at Pittsburgh Technical College is to expand access for all students and present them with every opportunity to excel,” said Dr. Harvey-Smith. “Our new MBA Fast Track partnership with an academic institution like West Liberty University achieves just that and presents students in both PTC’s Schools of Business as well as Information Systems and Technology with an accelerated outlet to attain a master level degree.”
“I am pleased to welcome President Dr. Harvey-Smith to our campus for this ceremonial signing that initiates our new MBA Fast Track partnership with PTC, a college that is a leader in providing career-focused education in the region. We look forward to meeting many PTC graduates in the near future and welcoming them to the Hilltop as they complete their MBA,” said President Evans.
The Fast Track partnership is designed to expedite the timeline for PTC graduates to earn their MBA, saving both expenses and time. PTC students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration can earn up to 12 credit hours of advanced standing toward their MBA, while students working toward a Bachelor of Science in Applied Management can earn up to nine credit hours, with Bachelor of Science in Information Technology students earning up to six hours.
PTC’s two-year Business program gives students the opportunity to learn from instructors who combine their business knowledge and industry experience to engage students in the subject matter and arrange internships and connect with employers. WLU’s MBA program is designed to enhance core business competencies and build confidence as a strategic and resourceful professional through three concentration areas: Management, Forensic Accounting and Healthcare Management.
