Jamboree Celebrates 89th with Stars

Anniversary is a Reunion and Homecoming.

Saturday, April 2nd represents the 89th anniversary of the first official stage presentation of the storied Wheeling Jamboree live broadcasts. For the first time, a homecoming reunion of stars and cast regulars is established from the generation of the 70s and 80s. The show features Marshall county native singer, songwriter Lionel Cartwright, music director of Jamboree during the late 70s along with Jamboree-USA stars Jo Ann Jones, Sandy Huffman, and Chris Day with members of the New Generation Express and 11/70 staff bands. General Admission is $30 and doors open at 6:00 pm. In keeping with the tradition of the historic Jamboree, this family-friendly show also brings Bluegrass group Brother Randall & Friends and will be broadcast live on the new radio home of the Jamboree WWOV 101.1 FM

The show will be dedicated to the memory of prominent Radio and Jamboree personalities Tom Miller, Buddy Ray, Leon Douglas, and Don Hoard

This year’s anniversary show also kicks off the yearlong preparation for the 90th Anniversary of the Jamboree scheduled for April 15, 2023, at the Capitol Theatre.
