An OPEN LETTER to Gold Star Families …

-

Dear Gold Star Family Members:

You may become frustrated today with the confusion between the meaning of Memorial Day and Veterans Day. You may get angry with all of the “Happy Memorial Day” stuff when, for you, today likely is not a pleasant day.

Memorial Day is a day to honor your loved one’s life, and your loved one’s sacrifice, and your sacrifice, too. Memorial Day is a 24-hour time period set aside by the federal government for Americans to pay homage to the lives lost while heroes fought for our freedoms.

Today, we mourn your loss because your loss is our loss, too.

Sincerely,

We The People
