Malicious Assault Investigation in Wheeling

Wheeling Police are investigating a malicious assault that took place this weekend.

Police were called to Wheeling Hospital’s Emergency Department Saturday for a person who was injured from an apparent stabbing.

Police believe the victim and the suspect got into a verbal argument on South Penn Street on Wheeling Island that later resulted in a stabbing. No suspects have been arrested at this time, as the investigation is ongoing. The victim was treated for his injuries and later released from the hospital.
