An OPEN LETTER to … Election Day Losers …

-

Dear Challengers:

Don’t shut up. Don’t go away. Don’t forget why you ran in the first place. We need you.

You called them out. You made them toe the line. You held them accountable. In a way, you won.

It’s no mystery that unchecked politicians – on all levels – do what unchecked politicians do, but if people care enough to keep their eyes open then there is at least apprehension before the disrespect, right?

You had ideas. New ideas. And just because you were defeated doesn’t mean they were bad ideas.

When you filed your candidacy papers you had a goal, a vision of sorts of all the terrific things you wanted to do for people, but you really don’t need to be an elected official to do that, right? In fact, most communities in the valley have committees and commissions on which interested citizens can serve.

It’s about civic duty, after all. Thanks for caring enough to endure a political campaign.

Sincerely,

Your Voters
