Public Offered Chance to Comment on City of Wheeling Water

-

The City of Wheeling will host a Source Water Assessment and Protection (SWAP) meeting at 4:45 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 21 in Council Chambers, City-County Building, 1500 Chapline Street.

The Wheeling Water Department is working with Downstream Strategies to update the SWAP program for the City in compliance with Senate Bill 373. The goal of the SWAP program is to prevent degradation of source waters which may preclude present and future uses of drinking water supplies by overseeing source water protection on a local level.

The purpose of this meeting is to describe the plan, present management strategies and solicit feedback from the public.
