As part of a collaborative effort between the West Liberty University College of Education and Human Performance and the Learning & Student Development Center, WLU is hosting a Teacher Job Fair for its graduating and upcoming seniors.
This event will be held in the Boyle Conference Center, located in the ASRC,from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., Thursday, May 4.
“This is our second annual Teacher Fair and students will attend from our Education Program and various other academic programs of interest,” said Alexis Montes, WLU’s program coordinator for teacher candidates.
“If any local schools or school districts would like to be involved, please contact me now,” Montes added.
Employers include Ohio County, Marshall County, Hancock County, Brooke County, Buckeye Local, Indian Creek School District and Switzerland of Ohio Local School District.
Students will bring resumes and enjoy an opportunity to network, and meet those who are hiring. Representatives at this event will include local superintendents, personnel directors, and administration staff.
“This will allow these hiring individuals the opportunity to meet our students in person and give our seniors and juniors a chance to network and discover what jobs and openings there are within our participating schools,” said Dr. Sarah Schimmel, chair of the Department of Education.
WLU’s College of Education and Human Performance challenges students to think, move, and connect, integrating the mind, body, and community. Providing the highest quality education, graduates of the College of Education and Human Performance are prepared to begin productive careers in education and other fields.
