The Oglebay Foundation is proud to announce the launch of “Forever Yours: The Campaign for an Enduring Oglebay,” a fundraising effort aimed at securing the future of Wheeling’s most beloved landmarks. Oglebay and Wheeling Park have been treasured destinations for generations of families, providing recreation, education, and relaxation for nearly a century.
The “Forever Yours” campaign seeks support of 100,000 community gifts to fund projects and initiatives designed to enhance the visitor experience, preserve the parks’ natural beauty, and ensure their sustainability for future generations. Funds raised will be used to support capital improvements, new educational and recreational programs, conservation efforts, and more.
“Oglebay Park is an iconic part of Wheeling’s history and identity, and we are committed to ensuring that it remains a vibrant and beloved destination for years to come,” said Eriks Janelsins, President and CEO of the Oglebay Foundation. “Through the ‘Forever Yours’ campaign, we will work to engage the community and raise the funds necessary to support the parks for the next 100 years providing quality of life to future generations of Ohio Valley residents.”
Specific initiatives that will be supported by the campaign include: Renovation of the historic White Palace in Wheeling Park Upgrades to Wilson Lodge, including renovated guest rooms and public spaces, and updated amenities Expansion of the Good Zoo, including the addition of new animal habitats and educational programming Preservation of the parks’ natural beauty through initiatives such as reforestation, habitat restoration, and sustainability Development of new outdoor recreation programs, including hiking, mountain biking, and wellness
