The Wheeling Park Commission is working with the high school golf coaches in the Wheeling area to offer high-quality, low-cost golf events for young golfers in the Ohio Valley.  

The first of the events begins on Wednesday, June 14.  With the Wheeling Elks Junior and Youth golf Tournaments.  This tournament has been held for generations and is completely funded by the Wheeling Elks Lodge.  This event has two divisions.  Division one is an 18-hole tournament at Crispen Center GC with a number of age groups for both boys and girls.  Division II is a 9-hole event at the Par 3 course at Oglebay.  Awards are presented after the event in the Haller Shelter with food and refreshments provided as well.  For an application please contact David Gaudino at David.gaudino54@gmail.com.  The application deadline is June 5.

A new tournament will be offered on Thursday, June 15 at Wheeling Park Golf Course, and will be sponsored by the Marshall County Education Foundation.  This event is a 9-hole tournament with a number of age groups for both boys and girls grades 2-12.  

A new event in the Ohio Valley will be a Parent-Student golf scramble sponsored by the John Marshall Golf Boosters.  This type of event was very common generations ago. Our first-of-a-kind event for the 21st Century here in the Ohio Valley will be held on Sunday afternoon, June 18 at Moundsville Country Club.  There will be a number of age groups for both boys, girls, moms and dads.  

On Thursday, July 20, Wheeling Park Golf Course will be the location for the second annual Nick Gaudino Memorial Youth Golf Tournament.  This will also be a 9-hole event will be held in memory of Nick Gaudino, a WWII veteran who was multiply handicapped in fighting in the Pacific theater, but who returned home to play at Wheeling Park Golf Course one-handed.  There will be many age groups and tees appropriate for the skill level of the players.

A new tournament will be offered on Thursday, June 22 at Wheeling Park Golf Course sponsored by the Marshall County Education Foundation.  This event is a 9 hole tournament with a number of age groups for both boys and girls grades 2-12.
