An OPEN LETTER to … WVU Athletic Director Wren Baker … AGAIN!!

Mr. Baker:

We’re sure you’re aware it’s been an especially painful season for the university’s men’s basketball team, and we’re also positive you have been offered this suggestion before, but many fans in this region of the proud state of West Virginia would like to recommend re-hiring Hall of Famer Bob Huggins as the Mountaineers head coach.

We hold zero animosity toward Josh Eilert and we appreciate the reasons why Huggins had him on his coaching staff for so many years prior to this basketball season. That is why, if you do decide to take our suggestion and bring back Huggins, we hope Eilert returns to his former role. But, Mr. Baker, no one dreams of one day playing for Josh Eilert. For Huggins? You know that answer.

America was built on second, third, and fourth chances, and we see this situation as an opportunity to send a serious message to the people of West Virginia. Bring Huggins back and show that punishment for such actions can be brutal, but once a debt is paid, a debt is paid.

Sincerely,

Montani Semper Liberi

(Publisher’s Note: This “Open Letter” was originally published at this time LAST YEAR when Mr. Baker was interviewing candidates like Darian DeVries.)
