Year after year, the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce hosts Leadership Wheeling- a course designed to enhance leadership skills, knowledge of Wheeling and West Virginia as a whole, connections in the community, and a vast understanding of all the Ohio Valley has to offer.

One activity that is popular for leaving participants in awe is Energy Day, sponsored by Southwestern Energy, also known as SWN. On Tuesday, March 5th, the Leadership Wheeling class of 2024 will have the opportunity to participate in a day full of energy education. Starting at 9 AM at the Highlands Event Center, participants will hear from Stephanie Paluda and other leaders from SWN about what they do, how they do it, and why they do it.

Not only does the Leadership Wheeling class get behind the scenes information about what goes on at Southwestern Energy, but at 10 AM they will then be transported by Oglebay vans to a SWN well pad to first-hand witness the time, effort, and, of course, energy that SWN puts into the production of natural gas.

Participants will have the opportunity to tour the well pad, hear from the SWN engineering team, and have small group discussions about what they learn and how to apply it to their careers and personal lives.
