Wheeling City Crews Beginning to Collect Flood Debris

-

As flood waters recede, city crews are beginning to collect debris or damaged items that are landfill appropriate.

Residents should place the items to be picked up in front of their homes and NOT in streets or alleys. It is helpful to crews if the items are stacked neatly, bagged up and not in cardboard boxes. Boxes will break down if they become wet.

Furniture will be accepted. Carpeting and flooring should be broken down or cut to a manageable size and bagged if possible. Tires, chemicals, hazardous materials, paint and propane tanks are not acceptable and will not be collected.
