Mitchell Plant Employees to Participate in Adopt-A-Highway Clean Up

-

American Electric Power’s Mitchell Plant is proud to announce that its employees will be participating in a community service initiative by picking up trash on their adopted highway.

On Thursday, June 27, starting at 8 a.m., dedicated employees will gather to pick up the trash in front of the plant on W.Va. Route 2, for four miles in both directions.

This effort reflects the Mitchell Plant’s commitment to environmental stewardship and community involvement. By participating in the Adopt-A-Highway program, Mitchell employees aim to contribute to the beautification of the local area and promote environmental awareness. Employees will gather to participate in a safety briefing before heading out to their designated section of highway. All necessary equipment, including gloves, trash bags, safety vests, and other PPE will be provided to ensure a safe and effective clean-up effort.

The Mitchell Plant encourages community members to support this initiative through various organizations in the Ohio Valley. They believe, together, we can make a significant difference in maintaining a cleaner, more beautiful environment for everyone.
