I’m watching the Left try their “resist” tactic on the incoming Trump administration.

I’m mildly amused, and amazed, that people actually think having a very public tantrum is a viable strategy. To think, I actually respected some of those who are now calling for mass stupidity is appalling.

For those who missed it, the Republicans took the U.S. House of Representatives, the United States Senate, and the White House in November. The Supreme Court is also slightly right-leaning.

Time marches on. On January 20th, Donald J. Trump will become the 47th President of these United States.

There will be protests and the Left will bring their usual violence to the proceedings. As Isaac Asimov once said, “Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent.”

If you believe what the activists are saying, cities will burn, and they will “resist,” whatever that means. What they hope to achieve with their scorched earth strategy remains a mystery.

They will slander President Trump and his appointees likely because they have nothing else,  but they will never address any of his policies because facts are inconvenient when it comes to their narrative. I had to look back four years to see if conservatives attempted the same sucker punch against the then-incoming Biden Administration, and I’m happy to report the right conducted themselves with much more dignity during the 2021 transition than the Democrats did four years prior in 2017.

But this year comes with a new “feature” – the Left is accusing the right of what they are doing themselves. I’m extremely confident the Left will recycle about every tactic used against Trump in the past.

They will allege that Trump is personally mistreating those who break our laws at the southern border; they will insist he wants to eliminate Social Security when it’s really the Democrats that are hastening its demise; and the list goes on ad nauseam.

Of course, their usual retort is January 6th.

If an overthrow of the government was planned, it would have been conducted in a more orderly fashion. If the people the Left accuse of this insurrection had been involved, it would have been successful.

It wasn’t because they were not involved.

But the Left needs to learn two lessons – our nation’s capital is vulnerable, and like our revolution in 1776, it takes a very small fraction of the population to accomplish amazing change.

Just about every parent has had that moment when their toddler decides they are going to get what they want through a screaming, kicking tantrum in the middle of the grocery. But the child rarely gets what they want, the parents gets embarrassed, and the other shoppers fall into three categories – those who have not been there, those who have been there and get it, and those whose children had a grand mal meltdown topping anything they just witnessed who will immediately judge the child’s parents harshly.

The child is the “looney” Left. The judgmental parents are the old guard of the Democrat party who have relinquished control to the far left. We are the “other shoppers” who elected the incoming administration.

The majority is not about to put up with “resist” and burning cities for long. We have spoken.

Clearly and concisely.

It is disturbing that a fairly sizable part of the Democrat Party is willing to materially damage our country because they didn’t get their way in November.

That the Left is not beyond this kind of hypocrisy, and that they are willing to attempt to force their prejudice on all of us does not bode well for our future.
