On September 9-10, 2025, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) will commemorate its 45th anniversary with two days of impactful programming that will reflect on the organization’s enduring legacy and elevate our national movement for a safer future.

Reporters are invited to attend press events on September 10 that will honor victims and survivors, spotlight anti-drunk driving technology that will save 10,000+ lives each year, and advance the mission to eliminate impaired driving for good through education, traffic safety enforcement, and implementation of the HALT Drunk Driving Law.

WHAT: Commemoration of MADD’s 45th anniversary and lifesaving work.

WHO: MADD leadership, bipartisan Members of Congress, victims and survivors of impaired driving, auto industry leaders, safety technology experts, and prevention advocates. Event sponsors include General Motors, Honda USA Foundation, Mazda, Waymo, Governors Highway Safety Association, the National Road Safety Foundation, AAA, UKG, SmartStart, and Flock Safety.

WHEN & WHERE: Wednesday, September 10, 2025 (5–7:30 р.m., National Mall) Auto technology displays (5-7:30 p.m.): Leading auto suppliers and transportation safety experts will showcase advanced impaired driving prevention technology, emphasizing its sophisticated innovation while highlighting the importance of public-private collaboration for urgent adoption Candlelight Vigil & Victim Tribute (5:30-6:30 p.m.): MADD leaders, victims, survivors, and advocates will gather on the National Mall to honor those whose lives have been lost and forever changed by impaired driving.

Speaker Program & Press Event (6:30–7:30 p.m.): A bipartisan group of Members of Congress, partners, and other key stakeholders will discuss the promise and future of anti-drunk driving technology.
