Construction on the multipurpose education, health, and community center to be dubbed “the Bridge” has made an impressive advance during the winter break, and the grant-funded 31,000 square foot facility is well on its way to completion this summer at the Bridgeport Exempted Village School District campus.
Along with new STEAM labs offering hands-on learning and more College Credit Plus courses to give students a head start as they prepare for higher education, the Bridge will house extensive services for the public. Medical care, day care, and health and fitness options for every age will all feature.
The site will prove ideal for banquets, reunions and other events as well as a space for additional training for first responders. The Bridge stands to benefit thousands in the surrounding area and to make Bridgeport Schools a launching pad for success, hope and belief.
The Bridge is the result of intense planning involving a myriad of local partners and stakeholders and public input. Once doors are open, district leaders invite all to this new home for expanded education and training opportunities, health services and a venue for the community.
