Sheriff Zusack Issues Level 3 Snow Emergency for Belmont County

-

Belmont County Sheriff James Zusack has issued a Level 3 Snow Emergency.

A Level 3 Snow Emergency in Ohio means all roadways are closed to non-emergency personnel due to hazardous, impassable conditions. Driving during a Level 3, such as during the January 2026 Winter Storm Fern, is restricted to essential, emergency travel only, and those violating this order may be subject to arrest.

  • Definition: Roads are strictly closed to the public.
  • What to do: Stay off the roads completely.
  • Employment: Contact your employer to confirm if you should report, but non-essential travel is illegal.
