Fitzsimmons Family Dog Park in East Wheeling Opening April 15

-

WHEELING, W.VA. — The City of Wheeling is pleased to announce that the Fitzsimmons Family Dog Park at Tunnel Green in East Wheeling will re-open for the season at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15.

The dog park’s surface required maintenance following heavy use during the previous year. In recent weeks, the area has undergone necessary work and fertilizer treatment to help restore and prepare the facility for the season. City officials appreciate the public’s patience while the work was completed and look forward to welcoming dogs and their owners back to the park.

The Fitzsimmons Family Dog Park at Garden Park in Warwood opened in March and remains available for public use.

Dog owners are asked to be responsible pet parents by cleaning up after their pets and properly disposing of waste. The City of Wheeling will provide pet waste bags for visitors. After use, the bags should be placed in a nearby trash receptacle to help keep the park clean and enjoyable for everyone.

For information regarding the Fitzsimmons Family Dog Park at Wheeling Park, please contact the Wheeling Park Commission at (304) 243-4185.
