Brian:
Your imagination wins again.
You may not have been in the photos, and sure, you sold Touchstone Advanced Composites a couple of years ago, but the completed expansion to the company’s facility in Triadelphia would never have happened without your tiny “once-upon-a-time” office on 14th Street in East Wheeling.
Over the years, millions of motorists have cruised by that neat little village of one-story buildings along Interstate 70 in Ohio County without a clue that a critical supplier to the nation’s aerospace and defense industries works inside those walls. Scientists, technicians, and several other skilled employees report to duty daily in little ole Triadelphia, West Virginia, and that would not be the case if you had not pioneered the development of CFOAM® back in the late 1990s.
So, yes, congratulations to everyone with Touchstone Advanced Composites and Core Natural Resources, and folks, thank you for expanding the facility – and the number of jobs – here in the Wheeling area instead of moving it all away.
And thank you, Brian, for seeing and creating your visions through your Touchstone Research Laboratory, and for being such an intriguing and integral part of our Upper Ohio Valley community. It’s unfortunately incalculable to tell how many children you’ve provoked into science or how many kids have decided to chase their own dreams no matter what they may be, but what we do know for certain is that if you didn’t take the time to engage local youth, those numbers would be a big, fat zeros.
We can’t wait to see what you dream up next.
