WHEELING, W.Va. — The City of Wheeling is ready to launch another season of free summer entertainment with the return of Toe Tappin’ Tuesdays, the newly renamed Dr. Hossein Yassini Waterfront Wednesdays Concert Series and free movie nights.
The summer concert season begins Tuesday, May 26, with Toe Tappin’ Tuesday at Garden Park in Warwood. The first performance of the season will feature Twice As Nice.
The Dr. Hossein Yassini Waterfront Wednesdays Concert Series will begin Wednesday, May 27, at Heritage Port with a performance by The Train Jumpers. Concerts in the series were renamed this year in honor of Dr. Hossein Yassini, a longtime Wheeling physician who passed away in March. Dr. Yassini enjoyed attending Waterfront Wednesday concerts. The YAS Foundation, created by Dr. Yassini’s nephew, is honoring his legacy by sponsoring the music series. All concerts begin at 7 p.m. and are free and open to the public.
The City’s free movie nights will return on Friday, June 26, at Heritage Port with a screening of the classic film Grease. All movies begin at dusk.
“We are excited to welcome residents and visitors back to our parks and waterfront for another great summer of music, movies and fun,” said Director of Parks & Recreation Rochelle Barry. “These events have become a tradition in Wheeling and provide free, family-friendly entertainment throughout the summer.”
