Northern Panhandle CTE Students Receive Scholarship to Further Professional Training and Academic Study

Charleston, W.Va. – The West Virginia Department of Education has named 30 career technical education (CTE) students as recipients of the 2026 Albert Yanni Scholarship from among 89 applicants. This $2,000 scholarship is awarded to high school seniors pursuing professional certification in their chosen field.

The Albert Yanni Scholarship provides students access to advanced education and training opportunities that can strengthen their content knowledge of their chosen career path, further equipping them to be successful after graduating from high school.
 
“Students who receive the Albert Yanni Scholarship consistently demonstrate dependability, attention to detail and dedication to professional development throughout their academic training,” said State Superintendent of Schools Michele L. Blatt. “On behalf of the West Virginia Board of Education and the West Virginia Department of Education, I commend these students for their hard work and look forward to celebrating their future success.”
