Double Homicide and Officer-Involved Shooting Under Investigation in Marshall County

Sheriff Mike Dougherty reports that the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and the West Virginia State Police are investigating a double homicide and an officer-involved shooting on Middle Grave Creek Road. The suspect is deceased.

At approximately 1:40 a.m., Marshall County 911 received a call from a residence on Middle Grave Creek Road. No one was speaking on the line, and deputies responded to investigate.

Upon their arrival, a male suspect fired a pistol at the deputies. A deputy returned fire, fatally striking the suspect. Deputies then entered the residence and discovered two deceased individuals.

This remains an active, ongoing investigation being handled by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and the West Virginia State Police. Additional details will be released as they become available.
