In a heartwarming display of corporate citizenship, American Electric Power (AEP) joined together to benefit a charitable cause. This initiative, led by the AEP team, involved assembling hydration boxes for seniors associated with the Meals on Wheels program. Meals on Wheels is administered through Family Service, a local community senior center that serves seniors in Ohio and Marshall counties.
Recognizing the critical importance of staying hydrated, especially among vulnerable populations, AEP employees volunteered to assemble specialized hydration boxes designed to meet the unique needs of seniors. The boxes include a selection of beverages that help ensure adequate hydration and promote overall well-being. The collaborative effort showcases AEP’s commitment to making a positive impact beyond energy provision. By actively engaging in community service, AEP employees embody the company’s values of compassion, teamwork, and social responsibility.
“We are proud of our employees. They generously donated their time and energy to support our community. Our work with this effort not only addressed a vital health need but also underscores our dedication to being a responsible corporate citizen,” said Erikka Storch, external affairs manager.
Family Service, the recipient organization, expressed gratitude for the meaningful partnership.
“The generosity and community spirit demonstrated by AEP employees are truly commendable. These hydration boxes will make a significant difference in the lives of seniors we serve, promoting their health and well-being,” said Paula Calvert, Family Service CEO.
This volunteer-driven project aligns with AEP’s broader commitment to social responsibility and corporate citizenship.
