Ms. Tucker:
Well, goodness.
We knew it was a big “score” when you said yes. We knew you had orchestrated our beloved Jamboree in the Hills for years before mixing it up as the boss at the Pavilion at Star Lake, and yes, Wheeling is home, but voluntarily surrendering an “A” market position? In favor of Wheeling, a two-venue city that attracts “tweener shows” and tribute bands?
Yeah, that’s exactly what you did, and you made a decision that allowed you to reunite with the market where you followed your mother into the Jamboree business. Being here again means something to you, and to surprise us with shows like Alice Cooper and Ice Nine Kills felt, well, special.
Denny Magruder was a superstar for a little more than 36 years. He ushered in professional hockey, and he kept the arena viable far past its prime, but now you’re utilizing your decades’ worth of experience to change our expectations.
And that just feels fun.
Sincerely,
The Fans
