An OPEN LETTER to … Baseball’s Hall of Fame

Hall of Fame Committee:

It’s time for a change. The fact no former big leaguer was elected to the Hall of Fame when the all-time hits leader and all-time home run hitter were excluded again proves nothing other than the voters with the Baseball Writers of America are a bunch of self-righteous asses who appear to hold the game more sacred than they do their own lives.

Give us a break, hypocrites. No Pete Rose because he bet on baseball? No Barry Bonds when it’s never really been proved he did steroids? No Mark McGwire because “andro” was in his locker when it was a legal supplement? No Curt Shilling because his political views differ from theirs? No Omar Vizquel because of allegations but not convictions?

See committee members, these sportswriters have lost their way. Not only do they refuse to admit that they, themselves, are human beings who have made many, many mistakes during their lifetimes, but they place themselves far above the players because of the supposed power they wield. That’s why they need removed from the process. There is just too much bias based on rumor instead of the game and an individual’s career performance.

It’s not “Life’s Hall of Fame.” That’s called Heaven. But it is BASEBALL’S Hall of Fame, and these false gods of the game you allow to determine these decisions have made it about themselves instead of about the people who have actually played the game above the Mustang level in Little League.

Sincerely,

#ForTheLoveOfTheGame
