Dear Carl Brothers:
We know we’re not first to tell you this, but holy moly, you’ve accomplished exactly what you told us you wanted to when you first announced your intentions with the Bridge Tavern & Grill and the former Wheeling Hotel on 10th and Main streets.
Step by step, the transformation has been amazing to witness.
- Turning a “joint” into a “honkytonk” while keeping the same feel somehow inside those walls? … CHECK!
- Renovating the former Wheeling Coin storefront on 10th Street into a meeting place for families and groups? … CHECK!
- Reshaping the upstairs floors into residential living areas, including the construction of an only-dreamed-about rooftop deck? … CHECK!
- Setting a solid standard and allowing others to believe a new and (how dare us dream) different downtown Wheeling is a very positive possibility. … CHECK!
You set out on this venture knowing you would encounter the unknown and that you’d need to endure challenges like the long-hoped-for demolition across Main Street, this never-ending three-year streetscape, and the surprises older buildings can offer those attempting the unthinkable makeover. Still, here you are … and here we are, too, impressed, grateful, and proud.
We know we’re not first to tell you this, but we just wanted to say “WOW!” and “THANK YOU!” one more time.
Sincerely,
Your Satisfied Customers
