Dear Liz:
Some of us have known you since we were children, and we can recall your determination while shooting foul shot after foul shot in the alley behind your house.
You didn’t miss much, either, and we remember the exact resolve while you were all aces at Mount de Chantal Visitation Academy, Princeton University, and the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and after you came home to Wheeling to teach for nearly 20 years at The Linsly School.
But then, in June 2009, you arrived to Wheeling Country Day as Head of School, and your work there over the past 15 years has been transformational concerning student population and parental mindset, and you’ve shattered boundaries so everyone could recognize education truly is limitless for mentors and their pupils.
And now, to the surprise of no one, you’ve moved forward into a new role with Edge Fearless Learning, a several-state program involving multi-sensory learning models for needs in literacy and mathematics. The venture, some may not realize, is a creation caused by your refusal to acknowledge restriction, and as always, we admire your persistent insistence to open minds to more of what makes the world the world.
As parents and their children have said to you an infinite number of times, thank you for you.
Sincerely in Swishes,
Your Ole Woodsdale Gang
