(Publisher’s Note: This OPEN LETTER was published in late February when former employees of the Ohio Valley Medical Center and East Ohio Regional Hospital still were trying to make sense of their new realities. Many of those terminated with the closures had been there for years. It was the home away from home, and it hurt. So, Mr. Reddy needed to know about that.)
An OPEN LETTER to Lex Reddy, CEO, Alecto Healthcare:
You really don’t like people, do you?
Not nurses, aides, doctors, administrators, and other staff members.
And not the patients, either, and you have allowed for the impression that it does not matter if they were seeking medical or psychiatric care. Not in Wheeling or Martins Ferry or in Fairmont.
You’re in the health care industry, yet you were unable to figure out a way to make enough money in a state that is No. 1, or near the top, in obesity, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, addiction, and mental illness. To make matters worse, you fled without paying your bills, and your property business partner has held hostage the former facilities in the Northern Panhandle and in East Ohio.
But see, we’re West Virginians, and that means we don’t take getting bullied real well. We push back, in fact, and we’re a resourceful bunch of folks who know how to hold a grudge and fight a feud. And we don’t quit either, and one piece of proof is the passage of House Bill 13, legislation that suggests Attorney General Patrick Morrissey needs to investigate your corporation, its business dealings in the Mountain State, and you, too, Lex Reddy.
You just don’t seem too smart, Lex, and it’s our guess your first question for your “rape and pillage” adviser was, “So how far away is this Wheeling place from Virginia Beach?”
Yeah, you’re that ignorant guy the mirror doesn’t even like.
Sincerely,
The “LET’S GO!” Nation
