An OPEN LETTER to … Marshall County’s John Gruzinskas …

-

Dear “Big John”:

What can we say? We’re big fans. State Trooper for 25 years. County Sheriff for eight. And now, Marshall County Commissioner. A true servant of the people. And for all the right reasons.

That’s what we believe because we know you. We’ve come to know who you are and what you’re about. You may not be a native of Marshall County, but you’re likely more authentic a citizen than most after coming here as a young man from the Washington, D.C. area. You did that because this is where “they” told you a career in law enforcement was waiting for you, and you ended up making your life here with your beautiful bride and your terrific kids.

But “they” didn’t know what you’d eventually encounter with the invaders of New Vrindaban, with the growth of the gas and oil industries and what would happen with those take-me-home country roads, or how the shoreline’s industries would change through the decades. No matter, you’ve always stood above us – literally and figuratively – and protected a hard-working people who, mostly anyway, just want a piece of that American dream.

People just don’t say thank you enough, John. You know it, and we know it, so we hope you realize how much people appreciate you for making such a positive difference in so many different ways.

Thanks for sticking around and becoming our friend.

Sincerely,

The Neighbors
