An OPEN LETTER to … Mr. Chris Thoburn …

Dear Chris:

Thank you.

We’re thankful for what you share on social media because it reveals your dedication to your community, the people in it, and to your Faith, too. Online platforms like Facebook are too often utilized by people who have chosen a side – one way or another – and with them, there’s no other side to consider.

But you, sir, have chosen peace.

We may not know you very well, but in many ways, it feels as if we’ve learned enough to enjoy watching the “lineup” videos you post for the Nailers and Wheeling Cardinals, and also when you offer the insider’s viewpoint while broadcasting the play-by-play for the Wheeling Miners. You work hard, man, and you have some God-given talents and you use the gifts for the good.

But you don’t stop there, now do you. Not only do you suffer from Crohn’s Disease, you don’t hide it. Instead, you raise awareness about how it affects the afflicted during those good days and those bad days.

We’ve watched your journey, Chris, and we appreciate your message, love your fandom for everything here in the Upper Ohio Valley, and truly pray there’s not a day when you’re hating like someone with a glass-half-empty mentality. We know that’s not likely, but life stacks the deck sometimes.

Again, just wanted to say thanks.

Sincerely,

We See You
