An OPEN LETTER to … Owners of Sheetz in Wheeling …

-

Dear Folks at Sheetz:

The success of your location at the corner of National Road and Bethany Pike over the last 20 years has been impressive, but it’s also been questionable to public safety because of the awkward traffic patterns that were approved back in 2005. Whoever those folks were at the time made some mistakes, so we’re asking you to work with them to correct the issues.

As you’ve witnessed during your visits to Wheeling and daily on your security cameras, your Wheeling location is constantly crazy with customers purchasing fuel, food, and beverages, but far too often during their arrivals or departures, motorists are at risk from the chaotic confusion. So much so, folks, that many peoplelike us – give our business to other gas stations that aren’t too far away.

The city of Wheeling is one in transition with a median age of 48 years and trying like a dickens to retain and attract as many young people as possible, but that also means we’re an older town with older motorists. Your location, sir, is confusing and too often dangerous, and that’s why we hope you’ll study the traffic patterns with state officials again during your rebuild and make it safe for everyone.

Thank you for your time, your consideration, and for doing business in the city of Wheeling.

Sincerely,

More Than You Think
