Dear Local Consumers:
What the Blended Homestead posted recently on social media is, we believe, what we need across the board and on levels of everything.
Yes, let that sink in for a moment. All levels of everything.
Why? Because it’s people supporting people with only an honest agenda and collective well-being in mind.
The Blends operate an ever-expanding farm in the West Liberty area, and they work with a number of different “farm to table” operations as well as the Public Market in the Intermodal Center. The area where the majority of those businesses are located is, well, downtown Wheeling, and no one willingly is traveling along Main and Market streets right now because of lane restrictions, closed roads, and an unfair amount of STAY OUT hysteria.
But …
Yes, there are detours, and, sure, there might be a little more walking than usual, but for those businesses right now, life is about survival – again. And, yes, it’s true, those wishing simply to grab a bite to eat can do just that elsewhere with much more ease and convenience.
