An OPEN LETTER to … Residents of Wheeling

-

Citizens of Wheeling:

First, kudos to Ward 2 Council rep Ben Seidler for the massive Wheeling Island clean-up that took place last week. Wow, that was a lot of trash.

What’s puzzling, though, is WHY there was so much trash. WHY Seidler had to organize an expensive operation during pothole season. WHY some city officials believe it’s necessary in other Wheeling neighborhoods.

Why is it puzzling? Because, as Wheeling City Manager Bob Herron told LEDE News last week, crews with the Wheeling Sanitation Department will already collect tube and flatscreen TVs, mattresses, dressers, and everything else placed along alleyways and curbside. Why Wheeling Island residents had collected so much debris prior to the week-long project remains a mystery, but future expenditures of taxpayer money is truly not necessary.

Throw it out, people, and if you are going to have an excessive amount, be courteous and call the Sanitation Department to let them know. If instead you toss those old drapes in the basement or in the attic, it immediately becomes a fire hazard, and, frankly, it could kill you.

Sincerely,

The CS Club

P.S. The “CS Club” concentrates its effort on COMMON SENSE.
