Dear Santa:

This year we’ve decided to throw you a curveball because this year, St. Nick, we’re not asking for ourselves but for folks we don’t even know.

We’re asking for the children whose names appear on local “giving trees,” and we’re asking for the people who have lost loved ones this past year. We’ve written to you for those neighbors of ours because there is not a lonelier feeling than when the Christmas Spirit cannot reach a person’s soul.

There is nothing sadder than when an individual who is most definitely on your “Nice List” still feels as if there is absolutely no way you could possibly find them to offer even the tiniest bit of joy.

Skip us, Santa, and give them The Gift so they can believe once again.

Sincerely,

Alive and Thankful
