An OPEN LETTER to … The Former Employees at EORH …

-

Former Employees:

No one knows how difficult it is to resurrect a dead hospital. Except for you, that is. You know because it was you who wiped it down, fixed it up, made it work, put up with a couple of pay delays, and then believed working even harder might push the place away from all of the issues with long-term survival.

So, that’s what most of you did, and it was remarkable to witness.

Some folks now insist they saw this collapse coming. Others are jumping up and down insisting, “I told ya! I told ya!” But with the doors locked and the jobs lost, none of all that really matters right now. Thankfully, organizations have reached out with offers of assistance, other healthcare providers have been hiring, and the residents in Martins Ferry are angry and scared at the same time because YOU, their lifesavers, aren’t down the street any longer.

And it’s not your fault, and we know it … and that’s why the only collective and consistent message we can send you right now is, “THANK YOU” for your care, your dedication, your commitment to your patients, and your love for each other, because that’s what it made it all work … and that’s what cannot be taken away from you as you all move on.

We’re praying for you.

Sincerely,

The People of this Valley
