Dear Former Employees:

We’re not sure why, but since the guts of the West Tower have been exposed this past week, it’s allowed us to imagine the life-saving chaos that once took place inside the blank, brown brick building we’ve only stared at for more than 40 years.

Maybe it’s because now we can sorta see the hallways you ran down, the patient rooms where you helped heal, and the waiting areas where loved ones worried and you consoled. From the bottom, EMSTAR entrance on Chapline Street to the lobby level in the courtyard, and all the way to the windowless top floors, this demolition has reminded us of, well, you, and of your dedication to our well-being.

And we’d like to say thank you. Again.

Sincerely,

Healed and Grateful
