An OPEN LETTER to … the Ohio County Community …

-

Folks:

It’s been a week full of anguish and sacrifice and sadness, and the recoveries of the Valley Grove and Triadelphia communities will take months – not weeks – and in some cases, never, because we’ve lost neighbors and we’ve lost friends.

And we’ve seen this valley region put on its collective superhero cape and fly into action once again, donating and volunteering and mucking mud for folks full of pain and uncertainty. Homes were erased and memories destroyed, and residents have slept in cars and trucks while others don’t have their cars and trucks anymore.

But we, as a community that stretches end-to-end in this tri-state region, have stepped up, and we’ll have to keep standing and sacrificing and offering pathways to what “normal” can be next.

And that’s what we’ll do, too, because that’s who we are and why we live here.

Sincerely,

The Neighbors
