An OPEN LETTER to … Wheeling Chamber President Kurt Zende …

-

Kurt:

Congratulations on being named the next president of the Wheeling Chamber of Commerce. After many years of service to the city of Wheeling, your selection is well deserved, and we look forward to watching you continue your “strength-in-numbers” mission.

During your tenure as the economic development strategist for the city, not only have you recruited much interest for the former OVMC campus, but you have transformed Centre Market from a forgotten commercial area into the municipality’s premier shopping district that will welcome thousands of consumers today during Small Business Saturday. Along the way, you have learned some business owners do not believe in working toward the collective good, but thankfully you have not allowed those few to soil the positives of your efforts.

Now, as the president of the Wheeling Chamber, we know you will work very well with your predecessor, Erikka Storch, and that you will continue cooperating with the people in our community to develop the best possible path to continued growth in all areas of the Friendly City. Real change now is taking place in Wheeling because realistic investment is being made, and we believe you will spread that private-sector momentum so it benefits the big and the small.

We look forward to being a part of it.

Sincerely,

Chamber Membership
