Mr. Scott Schenerlein:
The new snowflake decorations in downtown Wheeling are fantastic, sir, and they are an example of what you have brought to Wheeling Heritage during the four years you’ve served as the executive director.
Not only have you maintained programs like the popular “Show of Hands” crowdfunding events, but you have enhanced the organization’s strengths in historic preservation and small business development with a consistent determination that permits people to believe in your persistent push for progress.

You’ve managed the renovation and preservation of the Wheeling Artisan Center, too, and now we have a reinvented River City Restaurant, a pair of retail shops on the first floor, the new Art Gallery within the street-level atrium space, and plenty of community space in other areas of the historic structure.
We have also come to appreciate your insights, your innovation, and the leadership you’ve provided as you fill a very important “seat at the table,” and we admire your passion for where you live. It’s contagious. It’s refreshing. It’s your magic ingredient.
Your leadership has not gone unnoticed, sir, and we owe a heartfelt “Thank You” to your Board of Directors and to your staff, as well, because their support has allowed you to lead Wheeling Heritage to a refocused position as a catalyst for the revitalization of Wheeling.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Scott. We look forward to supporting you and Wheeling Heritage in 2026.
Sincerely,
Your Community
