A traffic stop conducted yesterday on Mall Road in St. Clairsville concluded a months-long drug investigation. Detectives with the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Unit, and the Ohio Organized Crime Investigation Commission, conducted the traffic stop and arrested 36-year-old Donald Daniels of Cleveland, Ohio.

During the traffic stop, detectives seized approximately 110 grams of suspected crack cocaine/cocaine and 132 grams of marijuana. According to Belmont County Sheriff James G. Zusack, the quantity of narcotics seized qualifies Daniels for a Major Drug Offender Specification under Ohio law. Sheriff Zusack commends the Criminal Interdiction Unit for its continued efforts to prevent illegal narcotics from reaching the communities of Belmont County.
Daniels was booked into the Belmont County Jail on one count of Possession of Drugs and one count of Trafficking in Drugs. He is currently being held on a $1,000,000 bond.
