Blame My Roots Fest (BMRF), a weekend-long country music event slated for July 15 – 17 at Valley View Campgrounds in Belmont, is gifting concert tickets to local veterans in celebration of Memorial Day.

BMRF, in partnership with Belmont County Tourism, will donate one (1) two-day General Admission ticket for every single ticket sold at any level this holiday weekend.

Chris Dutton, BMRF co-creator, developed the Memorial Day promotion to give the gift of live music to this exceptionally deserving group. The philanthropic nature of this venture mimics that of the inaugural Belmont Savings Bank Grad Ticket Program which gifted graduating seniors and their schools discounted tickets and charitable contributions earlier this spring.

“These men and women, who are infinitely braver than I will ever be, deserve to have some fun this summer,” Dutton said. “I – WE – owe them way more than just concert tickets, but it’s the least I can do for them right now.”

Members of the Belmont County Veterans Service Office (BCVSO) will receive the proceeds of the ticket for ticket match. Cindy Maupin, BCVSO Executive Director, lauded the thoughtfulness and selflessness of the promotion.

“Our members are thrilled to hear about BMRF’s Memorial Day promotion,” she said. “The buzz surrounding Miranda Lambert, Lee Brice, Neal McCoy and more coming to town has been phenomenal, and now many of them will be a part of the excitement at no cost.”

BMRF’s Memorial Day promotion runs through 11:59PM on Memorial Day. Tickets can be purchased at blamefest.com.
