Blame My Roots Gifts Local Non-Profits More than $25,000

Blame My Roots Festival, which saw its third installment in July, today gifts more than $25,000 to local non-profit organizations who assisted with this year’s event. Groups receiving funds for their efforts include the Union Local Touchdown Club; Jets Boosters; Shadyside Athletic Boosters; Lafferty Volunteer Fire Department; and Morristown Fire Department.

Each of the aforementioned groups dedicated their time, talents and manpower to year three of Blame My Roots Fest, which welcomed some 12,000 people to Valley View Campgrounds July 14-16. In no particular order, their efforts included:

• Union Local Touchdown Club
• Jets Boosters
• Shadyside Athletic Boosters
• Lafferty Volunteer Fire Department
• Morristown Fire Department

Partnering with local non-profit organizations is a way to not just meet staffing needs of an endeavor as large as Blame My Roots Fest, but more importantly raise both money and awareness for community staples that need financial support to endure.

“As organizers of one of the area’s largest annual events, we feel it’s truly incumbent on us to use the festival as a catalyst for increased funding in our community,” said Chris Dutton, Blame My Roots Fest Co-Creator. “And it’s extra special to us because we grew up with so many of these groups.”
