West Liberty overcome a tough Day 1 start to finish third nationally during the Division II wrestling championships held in St. Louis. Cole Laya won his second 125-pound national championship for head coach Danny Irwin's club.

The Nailers will play their next four games on the road, as they will visit Indy on March 18th, 19th, and 23rd, with a trip to Kalamazoo mixed in on March 20th.

The team returns to Wesbanco Arena this weekend.

The Nailers will play one more game this week, as they will visit the Reading Royals on Saturday at 7:00.

On behalf of Patrick Watling, a case of pucks will be donated to a Wheeling youth hockey organization by Inglasco, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL.

Stefanos Lekkas had a terrific performance in goal for Wheeling, as he denied 40 of the 42 shots he faced for the win.

It's Mardi Gras Night at Wesbanco Arena on Saturday.

Danielle Stewart owned the pole vault competition during her time at Notre Dame College and later Wheeling U. Now, the national qualifier is helping mold young pole vaulters at her collegiate alma mater, as well as nearby St. John Central Academy.

The two teams are back on the ice in downtown Wheeling Wednesday evening.
