Labor Day Weekend Highlights at Oglebay:

  • Fort Henry Days presented by Fort Henry Living History:Step backin time at an 18th-century living-history encampment, showcasing colonial and Native-American cultures at Levenson Shelter and Camp Russel. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1. Don’t miss the dramatic battle re-enactment of the siege of Fort Henry, featuring Betty Zane’s legendary run for gunpowder at 3 p.m. on both days.
  • Annual Woodcarver’s Show presented by the Oglebay Woodcarver’s Guild: Marvel at the craftmanship of talented woodcarvers from across the country at Oglebay’s Pine Room. The show is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 1, with many carvings available for purchase.
  • Americana Skydiving Performance: Thrill to an exhilarating skydiving demonstration over Schenk Lake on Saturday, August 31 at 7 p.m. as expert Americana skydivers descend from 12,000 feet above.
  • Foam Party & Kids’ Fun Zone: Bring the whole family to Schenk Lake on Saturday, August 31 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for a fun-filled foam party – don’t forget your bathing suits and towels!   • Music Under the Stars: Experience a special Music Under the Stars concert featuring Broadway actress Siri Howard and local rising star Amanda McGovern, accompanied by the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra. The concert will be held at Oglebay’s Anne Kuchinka Amphitheater on Sunday, September 1 at 7:00 p.m. This event is part of the Sunday Funday Summer Concert Series, which is made possible by the generous support of the Elizabeth Stifel Kline Foundation and SWN.
  • Labor Day Fireworks Extravaganza: On Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1, gather near Schenk Lake at dusk for unforgettable fireworks displays that will light up the night sky.
