·      a private box in a theater, stadium, or arena.

And yes, there will be 22 new loge boxes inside Wesbanco Arena complete with seating for four and a QR Code for food service from Generations Restaurant.

But wait, there’s more!

A new “Beer Garden” has been added in the northeast corner on the floor level, the installation of a new full-service kitchen will expand the venue’s event menus, and additional food and beverage counters will be added for all functions.

“It’s all about getting our customers to the products they want as quickly as possible so they can enjoy the event they came to see even more,” explained Ryan Tucker, the food and beverage director for the arena and the Capitol Theatre. “It’s just another part of our focus on customer service.

“Not only will the Beer Garden be great for Nailers games, but it’ll be a terrific asset for us when we have our shows and concerts here at the arena,” he said. “The goal with this is for the fans not to have to leave the arena area to get the concessions they want.”

The concourse areas of Wesbanco Arena will remain crowded by local eateries, Tucker confirmed, with Tito’s Sloppy Dogz, River City, and Vocelli’s expected to return.

“With the menu we’re planning to do here, it’s easy to say that coming to the arena to have dinner and watch a game will be a better idea than ever,” Tucker said with a grin. “One of the main focuses we’ve adopted is customer service, and the renovations are examples of what has been discussed and decided on so far. Food and beverage are very important to folks attending our events here at the arena, so we’ve made some important changes.

“That includes the additions of non-alcoholic beer to our arena-wide beverage menu, and we’ve also added options like barbecued brisket, some Tex-Max items, and even a donut stand,” he explained. “We’ve been looking at everything that’s possible, and we’ve been listening to our customers so we can evaluate what it is they want to enjoy while they’re here.”

Safety First

It’s very normal these days to implement and enforce safety measures for public events and that’s why security measures will be upgraded for the upcoming Wheeling Nailers’ home scheduled in downtown Wheeling.

According to a recent press release from the ECHL team, all fans will be required to walk through a metal detector at the arena’s entrance. Plus, only clear bags or bags measuring 12″x12″x6″ will be allowed, and all bags will be checked upon admittance. For each of the Nailers’ 36 home games, the doors at 6 p.m. for a 7:10 p.m. game and doors at 3 p.m. for 4:10 p.m. games.

“I’m sure fans of all sports have seen security be added to other venues so these steps should not surprise anyone,” said Kelly Tucker, the area’s general manager. “We want our guests to have the best time they can possibly have, and we want to make sure they are as safe as possible. The steps that will be in place for Nailers games will go a long way to making that happen.

“And we hope a lot of the team’s fans come early to take advantage of all the food options that will be offered this season,” she said. “Our new kitchen is going to allow us to do a lot more than what was possible before so expect a lot of new menu items at concessions throughout the venue.”
