The Chief Operating Officer of East Ohio Regional Hospital is responding to a compensation delay for some employees of the Martins Ferry medical facility after incorrect speculation and misinformation have spread on social media platforms since Friday. Bernie Albertini the COO, has composed and sent a second message to the hospital’s employees explaining the situation, and the text of that message is below.

Subject: Important Update on Payroll Processing

Dear Team:

First, please know that EORH is OPEN with STAFF and that there has not been police involvement whatsoever with this issue.

I am writing to inform you of an update regarding this week’s payroll distribution.

We encountered an issue with Unified Bank and it resulted in a delay in processing our wire transfer to the payroll company Paylocity. Unified Bank has acknowledged their error and will cover any late fees associated with this situation.

As a result, some employees received their paychecks on Friday, others on Saturday, and the remainder will be processed on Monday morning. This timing is dependent on the processing capabilities of individual banks for late wires.

Please be assured that the payroll was submitted by EORH as usual and in a timely manner and will be addressing this issue with the leadership of Unified Bank on Monday morning.

We apologize for any inconvenience this delay may have caused and appreciate your understanding and patience. Should you have any questions or need further assistance, please contact the Human Resources Department at 740-633-4343.

Please understand that we understand the gravity of this situation and are not taking this lightly.

Please submit any fees incurred to be reimbursed by Unified and to Rick Oliver in HR and we will get them to you asap.

Thank you for your attention to this matter and for your continued commitment to our team.

Best regards,

Bernie Albertini

Administrator and COO
