Easterseals, Augusta Levy Seek Sponsors for Free Inclusive Skating Event

-

Sponsors are being sought for the 2nd annual Inclusion on Ice that will take place at Wheeling Park Memorial Ice Rink on March 12.

Proceeds of the free public skating event will benefit children with physical and developmental disabilities who receive services at Easterseals Rehabilitation Center and Augusta Levy Learning Center.

The event is the brainchild of David George of Wheeling, who enlisted the help of Easterseals, Augusta Levy and the Wheeling Nailers hockey team to bring the event to the public. Over 100 people attended last year’s Inclusion on Ice.

“I want to help produce something that would bring all persons with special needs and disabilities together interpersonally and have a great fun time,” George said. He is the author of the inspirational memoir “Be Unique, Be You and Live!”

Inclusion on Ice will feature skating with members of the Wheeling Nailers and Wheeling Lightningbirds hockey teams, sensory activities, face painting, inflatables, and free refreshments.

Wheeling Park is providing free admission and skate rental during the public skate from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, March 12.
