EORH to Begin Laying Off Ancillary Services, ER to Offer Limited Care

-

(Publisher’s Note: Following is the text of an email that was distributed to employees of East Ohio Regional Hospital this evening.)

Effective 3-14-2025

As we continue efforts in furthering partnerships externally, it has become apparent that our next steps will be to begin a lay off of ancillary services. This step will further assist with the prioritization of payroll disbursement.

The Emergency Department at East Ohio Hospital, LLC along with limited staff to support lab, imaging and specific support will continue to offer care. Elective OR cases will remain on hold. Outpatient services will be case by case to ensure appropriate care and patient safety. Current patients with active treatment plans will be completed. Physician practice patients will be notified and will have access to their provider for the next 30 days for all needs.

Your manager will be in contact with you, if that hasn’t already happened, to determine plan based on your role and patient need. To begin a claim for unemployment – JFS – Ohio Unemployment Compensation –
Unemployed Workers

Closing any of the operations was never my vision, it is with deep sadness that circumstances have restricted the ability to continue as originally planned.
